Ways to Kill Bed Bugs

Bed bugs used to be big problems back in the old days and hence the popular phrase, do not like the bed bugs bite, was coined. However, in the 50s, bed bugs were just about wiped out with the use of DDT. When DDT was banned, bed bugs made a resurgence. Also, frequent international travel has brought bed bugs into the U.S. from other countries. Hotels across the U.S. no matter whether it is a 1 star or a 5 star hotel, have infestations of bed bugs. Bed bugs hide just about anywhere they want, as long as they can not be found. Some examples of hiding places are in your clothes, on your mattress, in between cracks of your walls, and under your furniture. Right before dawn, the bed bugs come out to feed on your blood. They inject a chemical into your body so that you will not feel anything when they suck out your blood. If you want to kill bed bugs, then you will need to seek out all the places that they hide. They normally like to hide somewhere close to their food source. If you miss just one bed bug, they will quickly reproduce so it is imperative to get all of them. If you suspect that bed bugs are hiding in your mattress, then may want to buy a mattress cover. These plastic covers kill bed bugs by closing them inside the cover. After 6 months or longer, the bed bugs will be starved to death. To get rid of bed bugs hiding in places other than your mattress, you will have to do some searching. Look at every possible crevice in your home around your bed. If you do not feel up to it or you do not know where bed bugs typically hide, then call the exterminator. Exterminators know where the bed bugs reside and have the potent insecticides to kill bed bugs.
